The pictures seen above were taken on Eastern Michigan University. As I was searching for a place to walk around and take photos of the architecture my older sister, who attends eastern, offered to take me around campus and take photos of the buildings there. When we first arrived this was the first building we saw that really intrigued me. The vines growing on the brick walls fascinated me, which is where my first photo came from. I kept looking around and ended up in the back courtyard of the building and saw this old white door. It most definitely has not been used in a while, but its rustic feel very much appealed me.
"Modern Dome"
"Sun"
"Blueprint Two"
This building above is one of a kind. Its bright red/orange color made it stand out from the rest. I loved the old colony feel to it, with a mix of modern features like the dome. The First photo above was of a sculpture in front of the building on its grounds. It seems to have been a sun dial of some sort, and the old feel for it inspired me to show its artistic value.
"The Roof "
"Blueprint Three"
"Contrasting"
The Building above was very strange and unique from the rest of the buildings in this gallery. This building is supposed to be the "Honors College" on campus. Though I have no idea what that exactly means I assume it has held some very educated people before. The brick and orange roofing contrast so vividly that it is bizarre that they were ever paired together. This building also was very small compared to the rest. It seemed more like a home rather than a school building to me. Most definitely one of the hidden gems on Eastern's campus.
"Pop of Color"
"Engravings on the Wall"
"Blueprint Four"
This building is locate at the very edge of campus, right in front of a main street. The beautiful Stain glassed windows were the only I saw that day, and I quite enjoyed the pop of color. In a photo previously taken of this building by some earlier photographer I was shocked to see that all the windows at one point had stain glass on them. Knowing that I tried to imagine the building with those features, and in my imagination the building would have been a beautiful sight to see. The bricks on the wall also had an interesting pattern in some areas that made it even more intriguing than it was to me before.
"Mustache Man"
"Blueprint Five"
"A Bell"
This is the last building I visited on the Eastern Campus. This used to be a High School, but is now a college building. The Bell on the top is what drew me in to the building. If you stood in front of the school it was as if it was towering over you. It stood on top of a hill with its big doors and sculptured emblems on the entrance. It was quite difficult to find angels to take photos of this building because of the wild nature surrounding it and the boring angels it had. Overall though I think I captured this buildings best features, pretty well.
